about

"8/21/13: I remember a few years back Dahga Bloom played this pool hall in Cathedral City, CA just outside of Palm Springs. The venue was called Crazy 8’s and was at the time wall to wall with meth’d out gangsters and near 30 stray kids there for the show. Dahga sounded like some of those Constellation bands like Hangedup, but were way heavier. Something like you’d hear on those old Hawkwind records, dusted with a desert of that Motörhead speed. What really sticks in my mind was when Dahga were playing their set, some of those bad dudes were playing a game of pool. Suddenly I see some kind of fight happening, when this colorful bloke picked up a pool stick and smashed it on some poor bastard’s face. I could feel the wood breaking in my bones over the super loud music. People weren’t sure what was happening at the time. Perhaps we weren’t sure what drugs we all were on. The band just looked at each other and kept on playing..... The set burned on for what seemed like hours. For sure this is not some shit you’re gonna see at some hip Los Angeles festival. This is the real heavy shit. This is Dahga Bloom."
